SCOUT TROUP

Scouts are the oldest members in our group, boys and girls aged between 10 ½ and 14. The Scouts are split into smaller groups called patrols with Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders being responsible for their patrol.

Scouts get to do a lot more adventurous activities than the Beavers and Cubs, such as rock climbing, mountain biking and orienteering as well as developing skills they have already learned in Beavers and Cubs. When Scouts reach the age of 14 they are encouraged to attend a local Explorer Unit, which are ran by the District. However, groups also hope that their former Scouts will come back and help run the other sections, either as a Young Leader or a fully warranted Leader.

The Scouts wear the same style shirt as the section Leaders, but in a slightly darker colour. There is a lot of choice in the uniform Scouts can wear, but it is important to remember that they are representing their group and therefore should be smart at all times. They too wear the same neckerchief as the Beavers, Cubs and Leaders.
